Many REALTORS® in South Carolina go above and beyond the requirements of selling real estate by contributing to their community, by participating in their Associations, and by exceeding education requirements. To recognize these REALTOR®leaders, the LeadershipSCR class of 2007 has created the State Leader Certification. There are five key criteria to the recognition.
The State Leader Certification will be awarded in January of 2008 for requirements completed during the 2007 calendar year.
Education
Proof of completion of at least 16 hours of continuing education courses is required. May include classes offered by SCR, NAR, local REALTOR®Associations, member offices, conventions, industry training seminars and other professional development courses.
Participation
Getting involved gives REALTORS® opportunities to network with their peers, learn from others and develop their associations. Involvement with an NAR, SCR, or local Assocaition’s board or committee is required.
Community
Involvement
A true leader always has time for the people around them. As a REALTOR®, being a part of your community is your business. Any volunteer service to your community makes you a better REALTOR® and qualifies for the State Leader Award.
Financial Support
“If real estate is your profession, then politics is your business.”
A contribution to the REALTOR’s Political Action Committee (RPAC) and the SC REALTORS® Education Foundation (REF) contributions account is required.
Attendance
With national speakers, breakout sessions and social gatherings, attendance at SCAR conferences will bring new ideas to expand your business and keep you informed of changes in the industry. Attendance at the SCAR Annual Conference or Capitol Conference is required each year.
